Welcome to the Rural World!

Fall City Farms is alive and well! We did not open our store and gardens in August as usual, because we had lost some crops, we were still struggling with getting the healthy ones to stay healthy and we did not have enough help to set up and harvest the vegetables.

As I walked through the pumpkin patch this morning, getting soggy wet, and watching the dogs rabbithop through the vines, I thought of June and July and the discouraging spring season we have experienced this year. Snow in June! Frost, rain!

Check out the good times
happening at the farm!

But that is old news. We cannot make up for what we lost or speed the ripening process on the crops that remain, but we do have beautiful vegetables to offer. We lost our paste tomatoes, but our slicing tomatoes, heirlooms and others have never been more healthy and productive. Our u-pick garden, while weedy, is generous and thriving. And we do have pumpkins!

We welcome you to our fields and the store, and thank you for your patience and encouragement.

Our bread man, Alex, of Preston Hill Bakery, is back and the Jensen girls from Golden Glen Creamery have added new cheeses to their line. Lebanese Breeze, that delicious, nutritious garlic spread is in stock I believe it has been our top selling prepared food for about 13 years now. Don’t miss it. This year we are adding the River Valley Ranch soft and hard goat and cow cheeses.

So you can see we are fit and fine and finding fun in farming again!

Whassup
We had to say good-bye to our dear old goat, Whassup, this summer. She was almost 14 years old! Here, with her buddy, Chloe, the sheep, she bids us a "So long! and thanks for all of the visits and kindness."
